Getting to Chatuchak Market by Bus
Looking for the cheapest way to get to JJ Market? Well, making the journey by bus is your best option for trips costing only 20 Baht.
Although catching the BTS (Skytrain) or MRT (Metro) is the most cost-effective way, catching the bus be an experience in itself. If you are travelling from Khao San Road, the bus can be more convenient for some tourists as there is no BTS or MRT close by.
If you choose to stay at Khao San and want to visit Chatuchak, you need to catch either bus number 524 or 3. Unfortunately, there are no available bus timetables so we would advise asking your concierge at the hotel or locals for bus stops.
Bus fares cost as little as 20 Baht ($0.50 USD), and certain buses are free, so you be lucky. The journey from the Khao San area can take anywhere between 30-60 minutes dependent upon the chaotic Bangkok traffic.
There are various other journeys you can take via bus throughout the city so please check with your hotel to find out the easiest way to get there via bus.
Buses in Bangkok run from 5 am- 11 pm daily and if you encounter any trouble on the bus dial 184 for the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority helpline.
